A Comprehensive View of My Studies at Clark College
About Me
02

(Illustrator)
(Hand-drawn with paint pens and colored pencil)
I am a recent graduate from Clark College in Vancouver, WA, having received an AAT in Digital Media Arts in June 2024.
As a creative who also needs structure, I enjoy moments where I can get into a flow. I enjoy bringing stories to life through editing, animation, and motion graphics. You will see below that I also love traditional arts and working with my hands through charcoal, paint, and printmaking. I believe analog and digital art can live together, with each bringing distinct advantages.
My interest in art comes from a young age when I would spend much of my free time drawing and being creative. I grew up with Looney Tunes and Nickelodeon, but was also a huge Disney fan and wanted nothing more than to be an animator for Walt Disney! As an adult, I have grown to love a wide array of art and animation styles.
I’ve always been interested in multiple crafts and art forms, and now I have a few more tools in my proverbial tool belt. Having a multitude of skills not only boosts learning and continued growth, but it provides for more opportunities.
My journey at Clark College taught me a lot about digital art and I’m excited to see where I go from here.

Mission and Values

Mission Statement
Help design, build, create, or deliver content that educates and inspires
Personal Values:
Illustration
05

Design Tools
Design an object in a thematic style using only the shapes tool. I thought this was a beautiful piece of avocado toast and I wanted to give it an art deco flair.
(Illustrator)

Character Design
Design a character using only pictures of fruits and vegetables. This is Sapphira, Ariel's long-lost Greek cousin who lives in the Mediterranean Sea.
(Photoshop)

Stylized Design
Draw four elements in a creative line style that best expresses the theme.
I wanted to represent my home state of Washington by drawing a series of icons: the state flower, insect, bird, and fruit.

06
Motion + Sound
Kinetic Typography
Animate a set of three different quotes, each with their own style and font. I chose to use positive quotes from people in pop culture that I admire.
(After Effects)
Animated GIF
Design and create a looping GIF. Our class was finished in December so I went for a festive theme.
(Photoshop)
Sound Design
We were given a film with no sound. Our assignment was to add snowball splats and other sound effects as well as background music.

The FRYing Trapeze
1-Minute Animated Film
(After Effects)
This project gave us freedom to create 1-minute film about anything. I thought I would make a silly little story about some circus eggs that get themselves into a difficult situation. Will they make it out alive? You’ll have to watch and find out.
The Briefcase
Student Film
(Premiere Pro)
In our Video Production II class, we created a short student film. Our team decided on a pair of goofy gumshoes who were competing for a coveted job, but discovered a secret along the way.
Animation
08

Infographic
(After Effects)
Design and create a 1:30-2:00 minute infographic with voiceover and music. I chose to tell the story of donating blood. I have been a donor for many years and want to encourage more people to donate.
11 Second Club
(After Effects)
Create an animation for the 11 Second Club animation challenge. I participated in the April 2023 challenge. The sound clip was from the TV show "Wednesday".
Logo Design
Design and create an animated logo. I designed a fictitious plant-based ice cream shop called Mondy's, short for almond.
